Rayno Seegers represented the following teams:

7. Stellenbosch University
8. South African Universities Team
9. Western Province
10. Vaal Triangle

As a junior, Rayno represented South Africa in the Orange Bowl Tournament and won the Coffee Cup in Costa Rica, beating Guillermo Vilas and is still one of the youngest players ever to qualify for Senior Wimbledon.

Rayno played the international circuit for 6 years and some of the highlights of his career were:

• Played on centre court at Wimbledon and took a set off the defending champions, Jony Roach and John Newcombe.
• Reaching the quarter finals of the mixed doubles at Wimbledon.
• Played in the French Open, Italian, Monte Carlo and Spanish events.
• Won the Grand Prix Series in Spain.
• Won the Dewer Cup in the Royal Albert Hall - London, partnering Bob Hewitt.
• Representing South Africa and played 3 test matches against Rhodesia, Germany and France.
• Winning the 1999 SA National Vets Doubles Title with compatriot Pat Cramer.

Academics

Studied at UCLA, Stellenbosch and RAU.

Has his BA (Physical Education) Honours and his Master Degree was done on Concentration in Racquet Sports.

Coaching

Rayno has coached in the USA, at Lew Hoad's Campo de Tennis in Spain and in South Africa.

He was manager of the Stellenbosch and RAU teams in the Inter Varsity competitions.

He currently practices as tennis coach at Honeydew Tennis Club.

Philosophy

Rayno knows what it feels like to compete at the highest level, but understands that tennis is a lifetime sport, which can be enjoyed by the whole family.
